Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains what data Mfleet collects, why, and how it's handled — for both fleet owners/managers ("Customers") and the drivers of vehicles fitted with a Mfleet dashcam.
1. What we collect
- Video footage — continuous front and rear recording from the dashcam, retained on the device and, once a connection is available, synced to Customer cloud storage.
- Location and driving telemetry — in offline mode, the companion phone's GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope supply speed, position and g-force, since the dashcam unit itself has no GPS chip. In online (4G) mode, telemetry comes from the vehicle unit directly.
- Account and fleet data — names, contact details, vehicle and driver records, and assignment history entered by a Customer's fleet manager.
- Device diagnostics — basic health data from the dashcam and companion app (storage, connectivity, firmware version) used for support and reliability.
2. How it's used
Footage and telemetry are used to reconstruct trips, flag incidents (impacts, harsh driving, hazards on the road), and give fleet managers a live and historical view of their vehicles. We do not sell footage, location data, or driver records to third parties, and we do not use them for advertising.
3. Where it's stored
Footage is stored locally on the dashcam's storage first — this is what lets recording continue with no internet connection. When online, clips and trip data sync to cloud storage scoped to the Customer's fleet account. Data is encrypted in transit; access to a fleet's data is restricted to that Customer's authorized users.
4. Retention
On-device footage loop-records and is overwritten over time except for clips locked by an impact event or manually flagged by a fleet manager. Cloud-retained footage and trip history follow the retention period configured on the Customer's account.
5. Drivers' rights
If you drive a vehicle fitted with a Mfleet dashcam, your fleet operator is the data controller for footage and telemetry generated on the job. Requests to access, export, or delete your data should go through your fleet manager, who can reach us directly for anything we need to action.
6. Sharing
We share data with subprocessors strictly to operate the service (e.g., cloud storage and hosting providers), under contracts that require them to protect it to the same standard. We may disclose data if required by law, or to investigate a safety incident at a Customer's request.
7. Contact
Questions about this policy or a data request can be sent to admin@mfleet.co.
